Skelnæs Pavilion
Skelnæs Pavilion in Søholt Storskov.

Skelnæs Pavilion is an open pavilion located in Søholt Storskov. Søholt Storskov (and surrounding areas that were formerly farmland) was taken over in 2019 by Aage V. Jensen Nature Foundation. Using old maps, the areas are in the process of being restored to their former state.

Skelnæs Pavilion is located about 1.5 km “into the forest” close to the Maribo Lakes. Signs show the way into the forest. The pavilion was built in 1822 and is maintained on an ongoing basis.

Skelnæs Pavilion is a perfect destination for a walk or bike ride. Bring your food and enjoy it in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. You can get a “taste” of the area and the pavilion by watching the video below. In the last part of the video, the area around Skelnæs Pavilion—that is, the Maribo Lakes and Søholt Storskov—is shown from a height of 120 m.

You can see the location of the pavilion and the route in “Google Maps” below the video.

Have a great trip.
